Small business admin support

Practical help with the admin that needs doing.

Whether you need help with one task, regular administrative support or a backlog that has been waiting too long, we can start with the work in front of you.

Find the right place to begin

Support that fits the work.

Choose what you need now. It can change as we go.

Some businesses need an extra pair of hands for a particular job. Others want regular help or need somebody to clear work that has accumulated. Each is a useful place to begin.

01

One-off admin help

A specific task or short piece of work that you want completed properly without adding it to somebody else’s list.

  • Preparing or updating documents
  • Sorting out a spreadsheet
  • Creating forms or templates
  • Helping with a defined admin project
02

Recurring admin support

Reliable help with work that comes around regularly, so it has a clear owner and does not keep competing for your attention.

  • Quotes, estimates and follow-ups
  • Customer emails and updates
  • Regular reports and spreadsheets
  • Scheduling and job tracking
03

Admin backlog clearance

Focused support to work through jobs that have built up while day-to-day priorities kept getting in the way.

  • Outstanding records and updates
  • Unfinished follow-ups
  • Documents waiting to be organised
  • Lists that need checking and actioning

Start with a real task.

Every business has its own version of admin.

The examples below are a guide, not a fixed menu. If it is administrative work that is taking time, being delayed or needs a capable person to take responsibility for it, tell me about it.

General day-to-day administration

You might need a mixture: a backlog cleared first, followed by recurring support with the parts that need regular attention. The support can be shaped around what is genuinely useful.

A straightforward way to begin.

Tell me what needs doing. We will take it from there.

01

Start with the work

Explain the task, regular responsibility or backlog you would like help with. It does not need to be presented as a formal project.

02

Understand the detail

I learn how the work fits into your business and what a good result looks like, then get on with doing it carefully and reliably.

03

Make it easier where useful

Once I understand the task, I can suggest practical improvements such as a clearer template, checklist, spreadsheet or way of organising the steps.

Practical experience

Understanding how administration supports the whole business.

Barry first developed this approach while building a local driving school from a one-man operation into the largest school in the Huddersfield area. He put the administration behind its growth in place, from customer enquiries and call handling to online information, instructor communication and consistent ways of working.

He later brought the same practical thinking to his brother’s joinery business, helping improve estimating, financial visibility, workflow and day-to-day administration as the business grew.

That experience is why Organised & Co looks beyond an isolated task to understand how the work connects with customers, colleagues and the rest of the business. The aim is still straightforward: do the work you need help with, then make it easier where that would genuinely add value.

Questions

A few useful things to know.

Can I ask for help with just one admin task?

Yes. A single, clearly defined task is a good way to start. There is no requirement to commit to ongoing support.

Can the support become regular?

Yes. If you have administration that needs attention each week, month or at another regular point, we can discuss a sensible arrangement around the actual work involved.

What if I need help with a mixture of things?

That is fine too. You might begin by clearing a backlog, identify work that needs recurring attention and also have occasional one-off jobs. The support does not have to fit into only one category.

Do I need to know how the process should work?

No. You only need to explain what you are trying to get done and what is making it difficult. I can learn the detail by doing the work, then suggest a clearer way of running it if that would be useful.

A good place to begin

What could I take off your list?

Tell me about the one-off task, recurring administration or backlog you need help with. If it is a mixture, tell me that too.
